Vania is a 8th grade Legacy Scholar attending W. K. Middle School.  She lives in Battle Creek with her dad.  She is a high honor roll student.  She is very active in sports.  While attending W.K. Middle School, she has been on the volleyball team, was captain of the swim team and plays number one singles on the tennis team.  She also plays volleyball for the AAU  "We Can" volleyball team.  Vania is a member of  "8 Lead", which is a select group of students that plan activities for the school.  She is also in band, where she plays 1st chair on the drums.

Vania has been a member of the Sojourner Truth Choir for 6 years.  She has received the American Legion Award and won the Carson Scholarship last year.  She was also selected by her school Principal Mrs. Morehead to be part of an elite reading club.

As a Legacy Scholar, Vania has participated in the Kellogg Community College and Western Michigan University College Visits.  She is a member of Michigan State University 4-H Extension and has been selected to participate in the Michigan State University 4-H Exploration Days program for the past three years.

In her spare time she likes to play golf, work on the computer, and listen to her iPod.  She plans to pursue a career in movie production and directing.
